My name is Kristen. Growing up, my mother used to scribble “K.May” on my clothes, lunchbox and anything else I took to school. It’s been my nickname ever since.

I have had many other names along the way, including Nutter Butter on the Appalachian Trail and most recently, “Mama.” I live outside Denver and combine my passion for nature and writing into this business.

I have spent nearly twenty years working in the outdoor industry. I have led trips in the backcountry with people of all ages, I have taught environmental education and I have sold the gear to do it all. For the past six years, I have worked in public land management in local government, writing successful grant applications that brought in over $3 million of funding for conservation, education and community engagement. I am thrilled to bring that passion and writing experience to you- when and where you need it most.
